5 Reasons we’re the best in Sheffield for your dance training!
Dance, for many, is a passion.
Dance has a wealth of health benefits whilst providing a creative outlet. It raises spirits and keeps your mind sharp. But most of all, it is a passion. For those people who just like to dance our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts: Dance gives you the opportunity for incredible training and an amazing platform to spring from later in your career.
The chance to train in many disciplines
You might have not yet found the perfect dance for you. The one you enjoy the most, the one that you’re the best at. Maybe you’ve not even had the chance to try that dance yet.
On this course you will get the chance to explore many styles of dance and get the full experience of a dancer’s life through professional training. Dance styles that are covered include:
- Classical Ballet
- Physical Theatre
Our new dance studios are the perfect place to learn
When you’re in training, you want to be training in the best studios possible. Studios that resembles those the professionals train in.
Because of that, we decided that our dance studios needed a bit of an upgrade. We now have two spacious, high-ceilinged, dance studios complete with harlequin sprung dance floor and mirrored wall.
Learn from the best
Like training in the best facilities, you also want to be trained by the best. All of our dance tutors are highly qualified and experienced. They have been in your shoes and completely understand the kind of support you’re going to need.
We also have loads of visiting professional dance companies dropping by and have hosted National Dance Co of Wales, The Featherstonehaughs and Cholmondeleys, Vincent dance Theatre, Danish Dance Theatre and Union Dance
There are also visits from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance who audition for their Yorkshire Young Dancers scheme, workshop visits from universities, as well as local freelance artists working in a number of styles which complement the curriculum.
Great opportunities to perform
It’s all well and good having somewhere to train, but it’s just as important to have somewhere to actually perform. We have a fully equipped theatre onsite (the 3rd biggest in Sheffield) where Dance students regularly put on performances to put those new and refined skills into practice.
We also take pride in giving our students chance to perform outside of college at venues around Yorkshire and beyond. All amazing experiences.
And you’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification
Whilst it all does sound like a lot of fun, and hard work, you will also gain a qualification opening doors to universities, dance schools and stage schools.
