A guy created a tiny working rotary engine out of paper

If you had a YouTube channel and were challenged to create something, would you? This guy has. A comment prompted him to make the engine, and make it out of paper ‘cos it’s, well basically, dirt cheap!

The model is made of paper except of one transparent plastic cover. The cover could also be made from plastic but then we wouldn’t be able to peak inside! Even though the model works in a similar way to a turbine, it has all functional parts of prototype – rotor, fixed gear, crankshaft, absence of valves – but it basically runs on compressed air! Reyt cool!

If you were challenged, how easily could you make something like this? In fact, never mind paper, get yourself on one of our Engineering courses here at The Sheffield College and get stuck into working with real engines!
