Mesmerising timelapse from space shows lightning striking Earth over and over
What would you do if you were in space? Mess around with the lack of gravity and try eating a bag of crisps a la Homer Simpson?! Tim Peake is still up there, and by the looks of it, he’s still having an absolute ball.
It’s nice to know that even astronauts are still utterly amazed by the majesty of seeing the Earth from space.
British astronaut Tim Peake, who is currently doing a six-month stint aboard the International Space Station, shared a stunning timelapse video of lightning striking the planet.
The video takes you from North Africa over Turkey toward Russia.
Peake has been tweeting rather prolifically during his time on the space station, sharing videos of making scrambled eggs and pictures of his celestial views. He’s also been calling people on the phone and playing lyrics quizzes with his followers.
Pretty cool that, although we think he’s spending too much time on social media!!! Anyway, if you would like to find out more about all those little processes that are going on around us that you are completely unaware about, take a look through our range of Science courses here at The Sheffield College.
