Dizzee Rascal among first names for Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival
As we trudge away from Winter, not that it feels like it due to constant battery from freak weather climes, there is one thing to rejoice about. Festival season is fast approaching. And what do all festivals need? A line-up! On the day Glasto announced Jeff Lynne’s ELO for their legends, slot our very own inner-city music soiree Tramlines has announced their first wave of acts.
Dizzee Rascal has been announced as Friday night’s Main Stage headliner, whilst fellow Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers will deliver their unique brand of UK hip-hop, and cult art-pop heroes Field Music – a.k.a. brothers David and Peter Brewis – will show off the best indie rock Wearside has to offer in the Steel City this July.
Yet again, Tramlines is bringing us a plethora of emerging talent and unsigned acts, as well as Sheffield’s own Toddla T again sure to draw in the crowds as he takes over the 02 Academy.
Whilst the full line up has not yet been released, it is an exciting time to be a music fan – especially if last years acts like The Charlatans and Basement Jaxx are anything to go by. We certainly hope so!
If you are awaiting festival season with bated breath just like us, why not check out one of our music courses in the mean time? With brand new facilities including recording studies, and practice rooms, what is there not to love?!
