Robin Hood announces new Flybe flights to Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam and other destinations

Robin Hood Airport, also know as Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, has revealed new flights to major European destinations including Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam as well a host of other new routes with with airline Flybe.

The announcement follows last weeks announcement from the airport that Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, will base two Embraer Jet aircraft at the airport with services starting from the end of March 2016.

Other routes announced included Alicante, Faro, Malaga, Jersey and Newquay will also be served and the new routes are already on sale after an announcement at the Doncaster airport this morning.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is already the fastest growing airport in the UK outside London and will now benefit from Flybe delivering up to 44 new flight departures per week, a 70 percent increase in departures. And the airport is only set to become for accessible for passengers with journey times to the airport set to reduce by 20 minutes following the opening of a £58 million motorway link road.

Steve Gill, managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said; “This announcement is transformational for Sheffield City Region’s airport. We are truly delighted to be welcoming Flybe in this new long-term deal.
“The additional seats and other forecasted growth are expected to take passenger figures from 900,000 in 2015/16 to over 1.35 million in 2016/17, an increase of around 50% year on year.”

This is fantastic news for those of you who wish to travel the world through working in Travel and Tourism – as new flight route, more bums on seats and a higher footfall in the airport is definitely going to result in the need for more airport staff and more cabin crew!

If this is right up your street, then it sounds like you need to check out our Travel and Tourism courses at The Sheffield College, because not only are the courses fantastic but we also have a full aircraft cabin for you to train in!!
