What’s on in Sheffield during November?

As the nights draw in and we stand at the cusp of the festive season, Sheffield becomes awash with activity for anyone who wants to submerge themselves in a bit of culture and craft. 13th Nov: Steve Jobs – No, this is not the first movie looking at the incredible life of Apple’s Steve Jobs. Yes, it is still worth seeing. 14th Nov: The Craft – Who can forget this tale of teenage lust, friendship and utterly black magic? Girl Gang will host a screening of every girl’s favourite witch flick, The Craft, tonight. (Sat 14 Nov, Theatre Delicatessen, Moor, Sheffield, S1 4PF, more info)

14th Nov: Fish Cookery Lesson – Do you know how to prepare and cook a fine fillet? No? Well, then you ought to head to the Milestone where the expert staff will teach you the art of cookery. 15th Nov: Newton Faulkner – Now on his fifth studio album, the dreadlocked singer-song writer is still going strong. His latest album, Human Love, is set to be released at the end of the month. 15th Nov: Every Time I Die – Taking inspiration from technical hardcore punk, Every Time I Die have been going since the 1980s. 16th Nov: Everything Everything – As part of their UK tour, Everything Everything will bring you experimental pop tunes right through the night. 18th Nov: Love 3D – Get ready for a movie seeped in romance. Electra and Murphy had a two-year long love affair, but that came to a sudden end when he woke up to find her gone for good. 19th Nov: The Ordinary Boys – If you’re in the mood for some energetic indie pop, you’re in luck. The Ordinary Boys are in town tonight, and they’ll be rocking until at least 10pm. 20th Nov: Steak Number Eight – Belgian rockers, Steak Number Eight, have been bringing their unique take on metal tunes since 2008. In that time, they have amassed an astonishing following both here and in the rest of Europe. 20th Nov: Henderson’s NightRide – Sheffield Friday NightRide and our beloved Henderson’s Relish join forces to bring us an evening of foodie goodness and cycling. The ride will take you to places in the city which have ties with the epic sauce. You will also get treated to dishes at local eateries and even a virgin cocktail. 20th Nov: Gueros – Sombra and Santos are lost in Alonso Ruiz Palacios’s Spanish language drama. The National University strike has left them with nothing to do and no education to fall back on. 21st Nov: The Mouse Outfit – And, now for something completely different. The Mouse Outfit are a massive nine-piece hip hop group, with inspirations spanning from funk and jazz to modern hip hop. 21st Nov: Tom Hingley – The former vocalist of the Inspiral Carpets is set to show us that he can do it alone. With jazz and blues influences, Tom lights up every stage he deams to grace. 23rd Nov: The Waterboys – Since the band started out way back in 1983, it’s been an ever-changing entity. 30th Nov: 99 Homes – Starring Andrew Garfield alongside Michael Shannon, 99 Homes is the story of a poor single father who gets evicted from his home. The only way to get his house back?
